Celebrating one year!

cakeFirst year

It’s been one year since I started blogging and I think it’s time for a little update. As you may have noticed I prepared new web design of the website for you. I did keep the old layout, since I think it’s still most efficient and fast for searching.

Let’s have a look at what’s new:
  • Comment Like/Dislike system – You are now able to Like/Dislike comments posted on the website (No registration required). Main reason this was implemented is becouse there’s been more commentators recently and I expect this number to increase over time. Like/Dislike counters are good way of letting newcomers know what other people think about certain person’s opinion. It’s good way of making sure good comments don’t remain unnoticed.
  • Moved categories to menubar – I plan to rearrange these categories/add certain menu items in future and I think menubar will sooner or later become necessity, so why not implement it already. Besides, it’s easier to skip to the category that you like most by simply clicking button in the menu bar.
  • Popular/Recent/Comments Widget – I think so far most popular blog posts remained unnoticed to a random visitor. This widget should help them get fast view into which posts are worth reading.
  • Blogpost Like/Dislike system – It’s only feedback for me. I wish to know if you liked my post or if it helped you. It helps me realize what things you read mostly and which problems you maily face.
  • Guest blogger section – I am very aeger to collaborate with other sysadmins around the world. If you’d like to write a post of your problem that you solved/story you got to share with public, which is worth mentioning, don’t hesitate to send me an email. All credits belong to you. I also intend to set up a widget/text area which will be dedicated to fellow sysadmin bloggers and guest blog posters with intention of backlinking. I do restrict content to be closely related to system administration.
  • Search bar – Mainly added becouse of myself. I always search my own website to find solutions I already discovered and don’t want to waste time figuring it out again.
  • Tag Cloud – Last but not least, tag cloud. It’s SEO plugin, but out of all tags, you can get pretty good impression which topics I cover in my blogging and in which frequency.

Final thought would go to you, visitors. Even though this website was meant as my personal archive mainly, you sure showed interest in my writting within the past year. I would like to thank you for all the comments and opinions shared on and off the website.

Note: There might still be some minor bug on the website. You are free to report it if you find it. I’ll make sure it’ll be fixed as soon as possible.

Purpose of the commenting system is to share your experience. I encourage you to post feedback with your own suggestions, ideas or optimizations regarding the topic of a blog post. What commenting system isn't for, is asking questions about similar issues of yours and requesting support for it. Blog post is provided as is and I am not here to solve all your problems. Please bear that in mind and try to avoid posting such comments. I do take privilege to remove comment from my blog for any reason whatsoever. Usually I do it when I sense a comment was posted only for spam/seo reasons or is out of blog post's topic. Thank you for reading this, now you may continue :)
